Biography:
Kaecilius is a Marvel Comics character adapted for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, primarily known as the main antagonist in the 2016 film Doctor Strange. Played by Mads Mikkelsen, Kaecilius is a former Master of the Mystic Arts who was once a dedicated student of the Ancient One.
Disillusioned by the Ancient One's teachings and secretive practices, particularly her utilization of power from the Dark Dimension, Kaecilius turned against her. He believed that immortality and transcending the limitations of time were achievable and desirable, even if it meant drawing power from forbidden sources.
Driven by this belief, Kaecilius formed a group of zealots and sought to bring Dormammu, the ruler of the Dark Dimension, to Earth. His actions endangered the world and directly opposed the efforts of Doctor Strange and the other Masters of the Mystic Arts. He was eventually defeated and drawn into the Dark Dimension along with his followers.
